Wedding Dresses in Sofia — Why Areti Is the Salon Brides Have Chosen Since 1992
When you're looking for wedding dresses in Sofia, choosing the right bridal salon matters just as much as the dress itself. The salon shapes the quality of service, the choice of styles, the alteration options and the whole experience. In this article we explain why Areti is different — and why more than 30,000 brides have chosen us since 1992.
The story of Areti — from 1992 to today
Areti was founded in 1992 as one of the first specialist bridal salons in Sofia. From the very beginning we have been the official Demetrios representative in Bulgaria — the only one in the country with a direct contract with the brand.
Over the years we have lived through many shifts in the market — from the era of made-to-measure sewing, through the import of ready-made dresses, to today's model of designer collections with personalised alterations. What hasn't changed is our approach: every bride deserves personal attention and a dress in which she feels like herself.
What will you find at Areti?
Over 100 dresses in the showroom
Our salon in Lozenets, 63 Krum Popov Street holds more than 100 styles from 4 Demetrios collections:
- Cosmobella (from €1,000) — affordable elegance
- Demetrios (from €1,500) — classic and modern silhouettes
- Destination Romance (from €1,200) — for destination weddings
- Demetrios Platinum (from €2,500) — exclusive luxury
5 silhouettes — A-line, mermaid, ball gown, column and boho — in a range of fabrics, lengths and styles.
A consultation with a personal stylist
Every fitting begins with a 15-minute conversation about your wedding, your figure and your preferences. The stylist selects 5–8 styles, but you can add as many as you like. The average fitting lasts 60–90 minutes — no rushing, no pressure.
Alterations on site
Our salon has its own seamstress, Keti — with many years of experience in bridal fashion. Every dress purchased includes one free alteration. The options include:
- Adjusting the size (taking in or letting out)
- Shortening the length and the train
- Changing the neckline (adding sleeves, straps or covering the back)
- Adding or removing linings
Alterations take 1–2 weeks. Any additional ones (beyond the free alteration) are offered at affordable prices.
Special orders from the catalogue
If your dream dress isn't in the showroom, we order it directly from Demetrios. We have access to the full catalogue of all current collections. We show you photographs and fabric samples on site. Delivery takes 3–4 months.

Why do brides choose Areti?
With 266 reviews on Google and an average rating of 4.8 out of 5, Areti is one of the highest-rated bridal salons in Sofia. Here's what our brides say:
- "The service was incredible" — personal attention, with no pressure to buy
- "The quality is on another level" — original Demetrios dresses, not copies
- "The alterations were perfect" — Keti knows how to make a dress fit as if it were made for you
- "The whole experience was special" — from the first meeting to collecting the dress
What does the process look like, from the first meeting to the wedding day?
- Booking an appointment — online or by phone. We recommend 8–12 months before the wedding.
- The first fitting — 60–90 minutes with a personal stylist. You try on different silhouettes and collections.
- A second visit (optional) — narrowing down the choice, comparing your favourites.
- The order — if the dress isn't in stock, we order it in your size (3–4 months).
- Alterations — 1–2 weeks with Keti. One free alteration is included.
- Collection — pick up your perfect dress and get ready for the most beautiful day.
Bridal salons in Sofia — what should you look for?
When choosing a bridal salon in Sofia, pay attention to:
- Authenticity of the brand — ask for proof of official representation. Copies look similar, but they wear differently.
- Alterations on site — a salon without its own atelier sends you off to an outside seamstress, which adds cost and risk.
- No pressure — a good salon gives you time to think. If you're pushed to buy at the first meeting, walk away.
- Transparent prices — ask what's included: the fitting, alterations, storage. At Areti everything is clear from the start.
- Reviews — check Google Reviews and ask friends. Reputation is the most reliable indicator.
