Step 1: Define your wedding style
Before you step into a wedding salon, think about the overall vision of your wedding. The style of the ceremony determines the type of dress:
- Classic wedding (church or hotel) — a ball gown or A-line with a long train and veil. Dramatic detailing, lace, crystals.
- Urban/modern wedding — a column silhouette or a mini dress with clean lines. Minimalism and refinement.
- Outdoor wedding (garden, villa) — an A-line or boho gown in light fabrics. Easy to move in and beautiful in the breeze.

Every wedding dress silhouette accentuates different parts of the body. Here is which silhouette suits which figure type best:
A-line — for every figure type
The A-line is the most versatile choice. It narrows at the shoulders, hugs the waist and flares gently downwards. It suits pears, apples, hourglasses and every other shape. If you are not sure — start here.
Mermaid — for curves and confidence
The mermaid hugs the body closely to the knees, then flares dramatically. Perfect for hourglass figures that want to show off their curves. It calls for good posture and confidence.
Ball gown — for drama and fairy tale
A fitted bodice and a voluminous skirt — the classic fairy-tale look. It conceals the hips, accentuates the waist and the neckline. Ideal for fuller-figured brides who want to create visual balance.
Column / sheath — for tall and slender

Step 4: Prepare for the fitting
The wedding dress fitting is the key moment. Here is how to prepare:
When should you book?
We recommend 8–12 months before the wedding. If your chosen dress is not in stock, ordering from Demetrios takes 3–4 months, plus 1–2 months for alterations. For urgent cases we have dresses available in stock.
What should you wear?
- Nude underwear with no visible seams
- Heels close to the height you will wear at the wedding
- Minimal make-up — so you can see your real look
Who should you bring?
Bring a maximum of 2–3 people whose opinion you respect. Too many people create conflicting opinions and confusion. Your consultant at Areti will be the objective voice who helps you see how the dress really sits, not just how it looks.
How many dresses will you try?
There is no limit. Our experience shows that 6–10 dresses give a good sense of things. The stylist selects 5–8 styles based on your preferences, but you can always add more.
Step 5: Make the decision
If you have lined up more than 3 dresses in the "maybe" pile — you have probably not found yours yet. The dress should stir emotion, not just approval. Our stylists know this moment — the smile that comes effortlessly.
If you are not sure after the first fitting — book a second appointment. Most brides find their dress in 2–3 visits.
